Why therapy?

Life can feel heavy and overwhelming at times, even when everything looks fine on the outside. You might feel anxious, burnt out, struggling with relationships, questioning your sense of identity - or simply not okay, without quite knowing why.

But therapy doesn’t require a crisis. You might just want to take your emotional wellbeing seriously, understand yourself better, or build self confidence.

Wherever you find yourself right now, psychotherapy offers an opportunity to step away from the pace and demands of city life, into a steady, supportive space.

A place to pause. To reflect.

To explore your thoughts, feelings and relational patterns, make sense of what’s happening in your life, and move towards choices that feel aligned with who you are.

What I can help with

I often work with clients grappling with:

  • Anxiety that can sit quietly behind success and performance

  • Low mood or loss of motivation

  • Burnout and stress in demanding or creative careers

  • Relationships and family patterns that feel difficult and repetitive

  • Low self-worth and imposter syndrome despite external achievement

  • Questions around identity and sense of self

  • Difficulty recognising and expressing emotions

And if something just feels a bit off, therapy can help you understand why.

Working together

  • I’m an Integrative Psychotherapist, so I bring together a range of different psychotherapy ideas and evidence-based approaches to understand how and why we feel, think and behave as we do.

My style is highly collaborative. I don’t give advice or instructions; instead we reflect and explore things together, to make meaning of what’s going on and figure out what change might look like for you.

I provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your feelings, thoughts and relational patterns. Therapy isn’t always easy but I offer compassion and support as you work through difficult things.

I have a relational approach, which means I’m interested in your relationships and how they impact you - this includes important relationships throughout your life, how you relate to yourself, and how we relate together too.

  • Therapy works best when it feels like a good match, based on trust and open collaboration.

Our first session is a one-off 50min consultation where you can share what’s on your mind and what you hope to gain from therapy - and I’ll try to give you a sense of how I work. We’ll use this time to see if it feels like a good fit, with no pressure to commit to more sessions afterwards.

  • My practice is inclusive and welcoming of people from diverse backgrounds and identities, including those who identify as LGBTQ+.

I deeply respect the individual beliefs and values of my clients, including their spirituality.

I hope that therapy can be a place where identity and experiences of power and powerlessness can be openly acknowledged and explored together.

Recognising how parts of my own identity hold societal power and privilege in different ways, I’m committed to continually reflecting and working on this personally and professionally to strive to be anti-oppressive in my therapy practice.

Please note that unfortunately my current therapy room is not wheelchair accessible as there are a number of stairs to climb up from the street.

  • I’m supported in ongoing supervision by a qualified supervisor to make sure I’m as effective and ethical as I can be in my clinical work.

I'm a qualified adult psychotherapist with an MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute.

I'm a registered member of UKCP and BACP and adhere to their professional & ethical standards.
