What is therapy?

If something feels wrong - however big or small - that's enough to start.

At its simplest, therapy is a steady space just for you. Somewhere to feel safe and heard when things feel overwhelming, to start seeing yourself a little more clearly and make sense of what's happening.

What I offer is a consistent and caring presence that can hold all different parts of you - the difficult feelings, the contradictions, the parts that don't make sense yet - without judgment and without rushing to fix it.

Together we look at what's happening now, but also at the old patterns and relationships that have shaped you - and how you relate to me too. That awareness can start to shift things.

The relationship is often where the real work happens. It can take time, but it's worth it.

What I can help with

People come to me with all kinds of things, often including:

  • Anxiety that can sit quietly behind success or performance

  • Feeling low or flat, like the colour has gone out of things

  • Burnout - feeling exhausted and going through the motions of a life that used to feel more meaningful

  • Relationships and family patterns that feel difficult and repetitive

  • Doing well on the outside but never quite feeling good enough inside, and the quiet fear of being found out

  • Questioning your identity - who you are, what you value, where you belong

  • Feeling disconnected from how you feel or struggling to notice, name or share what's going on inside

And if something just feels a bit off, therapy can help you make sense of it.

Working together

  • Therapy isn't always comfortable, but it is purposeful. What I offer is honesty and consistency, held with warmth. A space where difficult things can be looked at without rushing to fix or reframe them.

I'm an integrative psychotherapist. I draw on a range of ideas and evidence-based approaches to understand how and why we feel, think, and relate as we do.

My style is collaborative. I won't give advice or tell you what to do. Instead, we reflect and explore together, making sense of what's happening and figuring out what change might look like for you specifically.

I have a relational approach, which means the relationships in your life are always part of the picture - the important ones from your past, how you relate to yourself now, and what emerges between us in the room. That last part matters because the therapeutic relationship is often a place where different parts of you can show up, be explored and understood together - opening up new ways of relating to others and to yourself.

  • Therapy works best when it feels like a good match, based on trust and open collaboration.

Our first session is a one-off 50min consultation where you can share what’s on your mind and what you hope to gain from therapy - and I’ll try to give you a sense of how I work. We’ll use this time to see if it feels like a good fit, with no pressure to commit to more sessions afterwards.

  • My practice is inclusive and welcoming of people from all backgrounds and identities, including those who identify as LGBTQ+.

I deeply respect the individual beliefs and values of my clients, including their spirituality.

Please note: my current therapy room involves a number of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible. I'm sorry this limits who I can see in person - online sessions are available and I'm always happy to discuss what might work for you.

I recognise that my identity is shaped by both privilege and powerlessness - and that the ways I hold societal power can impact the therapeutic relationship. I’m committed to continually reflecting on this personally and professionally, striving to be anti-oppressive in my practice and to creating space where power and identity can be openly explored.

  • I’m supported in ongoing supervision by a qualified supervisor to make sure I’m as effective and ethical as I can be in my clinical work.

I'm a qualified adult psychotherapist with an MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute.

I'm a registered member of UKCP and BACP and adhere to their professional & ethical standards.
