Psychotherapy in Soho
If something feels wrong - however big or small - that's enough to start.
I work with people navigating identity, relationships, burnout, and anxiety that can sit quietly behind success or performance.
Zara Taylor, registered UKCP & BACP Psychotherapist
What I can help with
People bring all kinds of things, often including:
Anxiety that can sit quietly behind success or performance
Feeling low or flat, like the colour has gone out of things
Burnout - feeling exhausted and going through the motions of a life that used to feel more meaningful
Relationship dynamics and family patterns that feel difficult and repetitive
Doing well on the outside but never quite feeling good enough inside, with the quiet fear of being found out
Questioning your identity - who you are, what you value, where you belong
Feeling disconnected from how you feel or struggling to notice, name or share what's going on inside
A sense that something isn't right, even if you can't yet put your finger on what
A few practical things to know
50-minute sessions, £80

Working together
-
I'm an integrative psychotherapist. I primarily take a relational psychodynamic and trauma-informed approach, alongside a broader range of ideas, to understand how and why we feel, think, and relate as we do.
My style is collaborative. I won't give advice or tell you what to do. Instead, we reflect and explore together - making sense of what's happening and figuring out what change might look like for you.
I offer a grounded and warm presence that can hold the things you've never said out loud, the contradictions, the parts that don't make sense yet - without judgment and without rushing to fix it.
I value curiosity. We explore where something started and why it exists - as well as how that shows up today. That tends to help change last, alongside symptoms easing.
I take a relational approach, which means the relationships that shape you are always part of the picture - the important ones from your past, how you relate to yourself now, and what emerges between us in the room. That last part matters because the therapeutic relationship is often a place where different parts of you can show up, be seen and understood.

Therapy works best when it feels like a good match.
The most important thing is finding someone you feel you can trust and open up to. Research consistently shows that the relationship between therapist and client is the strongest indicator of positive outcomes from therapy - more than any specific technique or approach.
So our first session is a one-off 50 minute consultation where you can share what's on your mind and what you hope to gain from therapy - and I'll give you a sense of how I work. No pressure to commit to more sessions afterwards, just a chance to see if it feels like a good fit.
-
I hold a few discounted slots for those that need it - just ask when booking.
Payment is taken via an online link.
My therapy room involves a number of stairs and isn't wheelchair accessible - I'm sorry this limits who I can see face to face, but online sessions are always an option and I'm happy to discuss what might work for you.
Before we begin working together, I'll send over a short client agreement covering things like cancellation and confidentiality, so we're both clear on how things work.

My practice is inclusive and welcoming of people from all backgrounds and identities, including those who identify as LGBTQ+.
I deeply respect the individual beliefs and values of my clients, including their spirituality.
I'm aware that I hold power and privilege in some ways and less in others, and that this is part of any relationship, including ours. I try to stay alert to this rather than assume it doesn't matter, so that questions of identity and power can be openly explored if they come up. This is part of what it means to me to strive for an anti-oppressive practice.

I’m supported in ongoing supervision by a qualified supervisor to make sure I’m as effective and ethical as I can be in my clinical work.
I'm a qualified adult psychotherapist with an MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute.
I'm a registered member of UKCP and BACP and adhere to their professional & ethical standards.
About me
I'm an integrative psychotherapist and registered member of UKCP and BACP. I hold an MSc and PgDip in Integrative Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute. My pronouns are she/her.
I've worked across charitable, community and private practice settings. These days my therapy practice is based in Soho, central London and I mostly work with young professionals, creatives and startup teams, though not exclusively.
The personal and political aren't separate to me - that shapes how I think about access to support as much as how I think about therapy itself. So I try to dedicate some of my work to low-cost or free psychotherapy, and advocate for change to the public mental healthcare model.
